We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process and that websites, third-party applications and content change over time.

3. Accessibility Standard

We aim to make our website conform, as far as reasonably possible, to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA, commonly known as WCAG 2.2 AA.

These guidelines provide recommendations for making digital content more accessible to people with disabilities, including people with:

  • visual impairments;
  • hearing impairments;
  • limited mobility;
  • speech disabilities;
  • cognitive or learning disabilities;
  • neurological conditions; and
  • combinations of disabilities.

Meeting a technical standard does not guarantee that every person will be able to use every part of a website without difficulty. We therefore welcome feedback and requests for reasonable assistance.

4. How We Aim to Make the Website Accessible

We aim, where reasonably possible, to:

  • use clear and understandable language;
  • provide a logical heading structure;
  • use meaningful page titles;
  • provide descriptive link wording;
  • include alternative text for informative images;
  • maintain sufficient colour contrast;
  • avoid relying only on colour to communicate information;
  • support keyboard navigation;
  • provide visible keyboard focus;
  • allow text and pages to be enlarged using browser controls;
  • use forms with understandable labels and instructions;
  • identify form errors clearly;
  • make buttons and links sufficiently distinguishable;
  • support modern screen readers and assistive technologies;
  • use responsive layouts for different screen sizes;
  • avoid unnecessary flashing or moving content;
  • provide controls for content that moves automatically;
  • keep navigation reasonably consistent; and
  • make essential purchasing information available in text.

5. Using the Website

Depending on your browser, device and assistive technology, you may be able to:

  • enlarge text;
  • zoom into pages;
  • change colours or contrast;
  • navigate using only a keyboard;
  • navigate using voice-control software;
  • use a screen reader;
  • use browser reading modes;
  • increase spacing between text;
  • disable animations; and
  • use built-in accessibility settings on your device.

Browser and device accessibility settings vary. Your browser, operating-system or assistive-technology provider should provide instructions for using those features.

6. Alternative Ways to Shop or Contact Us

If you cannot use part of our website, contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to assist you through another method.

Depending on your needs, we may be able to:

  • provide product information by telephone or email;
  • help locate a particular product;
  • clarify product specifications;
  • provide policy information in plain text;
  • discuss delivery options;
  • help with an order;
  • explain a quotation;
  • assist with a return or complaint; or
  • provide information in a different reasonable format.

Contact us at:

Email: info@fmvtilesandbathrooms.co.uk
Telephone: 01737 949131

Please explain what information or service you need and the format or assistance that would be most useful.

We will not charge a disabled customer for a reasonable adjustment.

7. Current Accessibility Status

We have not yet completed a comprehensive independent accessibility audit of the entire website.

For that reason, we do not currently claim that every page, feature or third-party component fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

We are working to identify and improve accessibility barriers as part of the ongoing management of the website.

8. Potential Accessibility Limitations

Some users may experience difficulties with particular content or features.

Possible limitations may include:

  • product images without sufficiently detailed alternative text;
  • colour or finish information that is primarily visual;
  • product documents supplied by manufacturers in PDF format;
  • older product descriptions with inconsistent heading structures;
  • third-party applications or embedded content;
  • payment interfaces supplied by payment providers;
  • customer-review widgets;
  • cookie and privacy-preference tools;
  • live chat or contact widgets;
  • maps, videos or social-media embeds;
  • carrier tracking websites;
  • supplier-hosted documents;
  • complex product filters;
  • decorative text placed within images; and
  • products whose appearance cannot be fully communicated through text.

We will consider reasonable improvements when a barrier is identified.

9. Product Images, Colours and Finishes

Tiles, bathroom products and decorative finishes are visual products. Images may not fully communicate:

  • colour;
  • pattern;
  • texture;
  • gloss;
  • shade variation;
  • surface variation;
  • scale; or
  • natural material characteristics.

We aim to provide useful written descriptions, but some visual characteristics may be difficult to communicate through alternative text alone.

Customers who require additional descriptions may contact us for assistance.

Where available, we may also recommend ordering a sample before purchasing a larger quantity.

10. Documents and PDFs

Some documents on or linked from the website may be supplied by manufacturers, suppliers or other third parties.

These may include:

  • technical data sheets;
  • installation instructions;
  • safety data sheets;
  • product brochures;
  • warranties; and
  • specification documents.

Some older or externally supplied documents may not be fully accessible to screen-reader or keyboard users.

If you need information from a document in another format, contact us and identify the document concerned. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the essential information in a more accessible format or obtain assistance from the supplier.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Shopify store may use services operated by third parties, including:

  • Shopify;
  • payment providers;
  • delivery and tracking providers;
  • product-review applications;
  • cookie-consent tools;
  • analytics services;
  • social-media services;
  • video or map providers;
  • customer-support applications; and
  • other installed applications.

We may not have full control over the accessibility of an interface or content supplied and operated by another organisation.

Where a third-party service creates a significant accessibility barrier, we will consider available alternatives, configuration changes or another reasonable way of assisting the customer.

Third-party providers remain responsible for the accessibility of their own websites and independently operated services.

12. Checkout and Payments

Checkout and payment processes may involve Shopify and third-party payment providers.

If you experience difficulty completing a purchase, contact us before repeatedly submitting payment information.

We will make reasonable efforts to help identify another available way to proceed, although we will never ask you to send a complete payment-card number or security code by ordinary email or social-media message.

13. Physical Access and Other Reasonable Adjustments

Accessibility is not limited to the website.

Where a customer visits or collects from an agreed location, we ask that they contact us in advance to discuss any access requirements.

Depending on the circumstances and what is reasonable, assistance may include:

  • arranging a suitable collection time;
  • providing information before a visit;
  • identifying a more accessible communication method;
  • providing additional staff assistance; or
  • making another reasonable adjustment.

Collection or visits are available only where expressly arranged in advance.

14. Reporting an Accessibility Problem

We welcome feedback about accessibility problems.

When contacting us, it is helpful to include:

  • the page or feature concerned;
  • the web address, where available;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • what went wrong;
  • the browser or device used;
  • any assistive technology used; and
  • the assistance or alternative format required.

Send accessibility feedback to:

Email: info@fmvtilesandbathrooms.co.uk
Telephone: 01737 949131

Please use the words “Accessibility request” in the email subject where possible.

15. How We Handle Accessibility Requests

We will aim to:

  • acknowledge the request promptly;
  • understand the barrier;
  • provide essential information through another reasonable method;
  • investigate changes that may prevent the problem recurring; and
  • respond within a reasonable period based on the complexity of the request.

Some changes may require assistance from Shopify, a theme developer, application provider, supplier or other third party.

We cannot guarantee that every requested adjustment will be technically possible, but we will consider reasonable alternatives.

16. Ongoing Improvements

We intend to improve accessibility through measures such as:

  • reviewing new website content;
  • improving image alternative text;
  • maintaining clear headings and page structures;
  • checking colour contrast;
  • reviewing keyboard navigation;
  • checking forms and error messages;
  • reviewing third-party applications before or after installation;
  • correcting reported barriers;
  • keeping policies available in clear text;
  • considering accessibility when changing themes or website features; and
  • carrying out further accessibility testing when reasonably practicable.

Accessibility considerations will form part of future website updates and design decisions.

17. Legal Context

FMV Services Ltd provides goods and services to the public and recognises its responsibilities under applicable UK equality law.

This includes considering reasonable adjustments where a disabled customer would otherwise experience a substantial disadvantage when accessing our goods or services.

What is reasonable depends on the circumstances, including:

  • whether the adjustment would address the disadvantage;
  • practicality;
  • cost;
  • available resources;
  • health and safety;
  • technical limitations; and
  • the availability of effective alternatives.

Nothing in this statement limits any rights provided by law.

18. Complaints

Please contact us first if you believe we have not responded appropriately to an accessibility issue.

Provide details of:

  • the original problem;
  • when it was reported;
  • our response; and
  • the outcome you are seeking.

We will review the matter and make reasonable efforts to resolve it.

You may also seek independent advice about rights under the Equality Act 2010 from an appropriate advisory, equality or legal service.

19. Preparation and Review of This Statement

This statement was prepared on 31 July 2026.

It is based on an internal review of the services provided through the website and has not yet been supported by a full independent accessibility audit.

We will review this statement periodically and following material changes to:

  • the Shopify theme;
  • navigation;
  • checkout;
  • third-party applications;
  • key customer journeys; or
  • applicable accessibility guidance.

20. Changes to This Statement

We may update this statement when:

  • accessibility improvements are completed;
  • new barriers are identified;
  • the website or theme changes;
  • new third-party services are added;
  • testing is carried out; or
  • legal or technical guidance changes.

The latest version will be published on the website with an updated date.
